Pick-up from airport and transfer to hotel.                        Evening: welcome reception, introduction to Belize, cultural presentation. (story telling, ‘Bruk Down’ music, etc.)

Morning: Visit to Community Baboon Sanctuary.  Demonstration of traditional farming techniques.                                          Lunch: provided by village women’s group                         Evening Discussion: Development Issues in the Belize River Valley

                                                           Overnight: Belize City

Day 3

Morning: Altun Ha (ancient Maya city)

Afternoon: visit a small sugarcane farm                                                                                     Overnight: Orange Walk

Day 4

Morning: river trip to Lamanai archeological site

Lunch: picnic at Lamanai                       Overnight: Orange Walk

Day 5

Morning:Travel to Cayo w/ stops at Belize Zoo, tour of Belmopan

Evening lecture: Environmental issues in Belize.   

                                                         Overnight: Santa Elena

Day 6

Morning: Tour of Mountain Pine Ridge (Thousand Foot Falls, Rio Frio Cave, picnic lunch at Rio On pools)

Evening lecture: Agriculture in Belize                    

                                                         Overnight: Santa Elena

Day 7

Morning: San Ignacio market

Afternoon: Boat to Tobacco Caye (located on the Belize barrier reef)                    

                                                     Overnight: Tobacco Caye

Day 8

Tobacco Caye (snorkeling, marine study, free time)

                                                     Overnight: Tobacco Caye

Day 9

Tobacco Caye (snorkeling, marine study, free time)

Day 10

Morning: Return to Belize City

Shopping/free time

Evening: Farewell party.

 Transfers to airport for departing flights
